The year-round programs at ADF’s Samuel H. Scripps Studios are dedicated to providing a sound scientific and aesthetic base for all ages and all levels of dance training, from beginning to professional. Our studios serve as a center for creative activity in Durham, North Carolina in which students learn in a welcoming and non-competitive environment from faculty who are experts in their fields. Our programs offer a variety of classes for the dancer and non-dancer alike, designed to strengthen the body, increase flexibility of movement, and foster an appreciation of dance.

Due to the increasing threat of COVID-19 and with concern for the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff, we have made the decision to cancel all classes, performances, and rentals beginning Sunday, March 15. Stay tuned for updates, as we are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as we have them.

Adult classes are offered on a drop-in and/or enrollment basis at all levels from introductory to professional. Student discounts and class cards are available!
American Dance Festival is proud to offer Parkinson’s Movement Initiative classes in partnership with NC Dance for Parkinson’s and Poe Wellness Solutions and supported by a community grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation. Through this support, all classes offered through the Parkinson’s Movement Initiative are free for people living with PD and their caregivers.
Additional support is provided by RTI International, the Lyna J. Rogers Fund of Triangle Community Foundation in memory of Betty Y. Powell, and individual donors.
