“It’s contemporary, edgy at times, and full of boundless energy.”—ArtsATL
Celebrating 50 Years!
Under the artistic direction of Hope Muir, Charlotte Ballet offers a powerhouse repertoire that is unmatched in its boldness and creativity. The company will perform an evening of mixed repertory including Journey Home by Chelsea Dumas, a work that explores the question of freedom and what it truly means to be free—in life experiences involving the physical as well as the emotional. A Picture of you Falling by Crystal Pite, “the dance genius who stages the impossible” (The Guardian). Petite Cérémonie by Medhi Walerski, a work rooted in satire and complexity, hailed for “movements of remarkable intricacy” and “eruptions of elegance” (Charlotte Observer) when it made its Charlotte debut last season.
Charlotte Ballet’s presentation is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
