Housing & Travel

All students are responsible for making their own housing and travel arrangements.
Below are suggestions to help begin the travel and accommodation search.

Join the ADF Housing Collective in your search for housing, roommates, etc.! This is a Facebook group monitored by the ADF School staff. The group is for registered applicants to connect about housing opportunities during ADF’s summer and winter intensive programs. You must request to be added to the group. You will not automatically be added. Winter Intensive participants will be removed from the group once the intensive has ended.

Check out AirBnb for more housing options at various prices: www.airbnb.com

For hotel resources, check out this page from NYU, offering discounts to NYU visitors at certain area hotels: www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/visit-nyu/hotels-discounts

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: We highly recommend using the NYC public transit system for ease of getting around the city. It’s also the most cost effective choice!  Visit www.mta.info for details.

Base fare: $2.75
Single ride MetroCard: $3.00
7-day unlimited MetroCard: $33
30-day unlimited MetroCard: $127

TAXIS: NYC Taxis are quite expensive; even a short ride can cost $10. More information on taxi costs, including flat fares to and from the NYC airports, can be found here.

More affordable taxi alternatives include Uber or Lyft.
