As ADF prepares to celebrate its season in Durham, N.C., the development
of community-based programs continues to foster and grow. The outreach
programs are held both during the annual summer season and throughout
the year. Through the generosity of the national and international
dance community, the ADF is able to better serve the Triangle community
with educational opportunities and events.

Throughout the year, the ADF offers week-long residencies in local
schools and recreational centers. During the summer, these learning
opportunities are enhanced through tours of the ADF school, residency
opportunities and open discussions with guest artists, children’s
matinee performances, and volunteer opportunities as ushers for performances
and docents for conducting tours. ADF continues its mission to reach
out to North Carolina communities in hopes of providing professional
education and training to youth, enhance public understanding and
appreciation of the art form, and build wider audiences for modern
dance.
