Three Week School

JULY 8–29, 2017

The Three Week School for Pre-Professional Dancers (3WS) provides intensive dance training for intermediate and advanced dancers ages 13-17 with an emphasis on building leadership skills and community-mindedness.

BECOME THE BEST DANCER YOU CAN BE
Take technique classes in modern, African, ballet, and hip hop with our amazing faculty. In repertory class, work with your teacher and other dancers to create a new piece to perform for the ADF community

PERFORM
Share your hard work in an informal showing on the last day. The entire ADF community will be there to applaud!

SEE PROFESSIONAL COMPANIES
You’ll attend as many as three performances each week and meet some of the company members you see perform in 3WS-exclusive meet-the-dancer chats!

BUILD LASTING FRIENDSHIPS

What former students and parents say about the Three Week School

“I learned more here than I have in an entire year of dance. I understand how to hold myself to a higher standard of movement and presence in class.” -2016 3WS student

“I learned what it really means to be a modern dancer and how to be unafraid to move to my fullest extent.” -2016 3WS student

“So much gratitude to ADF.  [The] teachers taught [my daughter] lessons she will carry forever and upon which I know she will build. [ADF] is an important place for young people to explore dance as an agent of personal and social change. As a mom, I feel so much love and gratitude toward the faculty and staff.” -2016 3WS parent

“Not only was my daughter exposed to different dance styles and enhanced technique opportunities, she had access to world class dance performances, a nurturing and thoughtful residential environment, and an opportunity to explore ideas of community and leadership beyond dance and beyond her current home and school environment.” -Lori O’Keefe, 2016 3WS parent
