HU/ADF MFA Program

Now in it’s sixth year, the 60-credit MFA offers students an opportunity to immerse themselves for six weeks in the legendary international community of the ADF, followed by an intimate learning atmosphere at Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. Few graduate programs can provide students with a wide range of experiences, opportunities, and imaginative approaches to thinking about dance. CyberDance was able to capture an MFA showing earlier this summer. Be sure to catch the last two MFA performances of the summer at the Reynolds Industries Theater, July 23-24.

Past/Forward

ADF dancers take the stage again for the fourth year as the Past/Forward program celebrates new and classic works. With works by Jerome Robbins, Merce Cunningham, and Tatiana Baganova, it is a show not to be missed! The Past/Forward performances will be at the Reynolds Industries Theater at 8pm, July 19-21. CyberDance spoke with a dancer from each of the pieces.

According to Webster’s online dictionary, a commission is a formal written warrant granting power to perform various acts or duties. Every year the ADF offers selected world renowned choreographers the financial means to bring their visionary ideas to fruition. This summer ADF audiences have the privilege of attending 8 World Premieres both at Reynolds Industries Theater and the Durham Performing Arts Center.
