William Forsythe, Artistic Director of The Forsythe Company and longtime director of Ballet Frankfurt in Germany, received the Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award for lifetime achievement in 2012. In today’s 80 Faces, former Frankfurt Ballet soloist and current ADF faculty member Elizabeth Corbett discusses sharing his work with ADF students through the Six Week School’s Forsythe Project.
Mr. Forsythe adds, “I am appreciative of having the opportunity to be a part of the American Dance Festival’s mission of inspiring, nurturing, and offering opportunities to inquisitive dancers. The program’s international scope and outreach is exemplary in its address of dance’s immense diversity of approaches. I heartily salute the ADF on the occasion of its 80th anniversary and remain excited about the organization’s future.”
