The originality and versatility of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is reflected in the trio of works the renowned repertory company is bringing to ADF this year. The company presents Too Beacoup by Sharon Eyal and Little Mortal Jump by Alejandro Cerrudo, as well as Quintett, a work by the acclaimed choreographer William Forsythe.
The presentation of Quintett at ADF this year is notable for many reasons. It is a rare opportunity to see Quintett set on an American stage and performed by an American company—indeed, Mr. Forsythe created the piece in 1993 for Ballett Frankfurt, the company for which he served as artistic director and choreographer for twenty years. Additionally, tonight’s performance at DPAC marks a celebration to honor the career of Mr. Forsythe, who will be in attendance to receive the prized 2012 Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Please join us tonight, Saturday June 30 at 8 p.m. for the presentation of the Scripps/ADF Award to William Forsythe, and the performance to follow by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago of his famous work. Please click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
