Hollins University / ADF MFA Program | A Kinesthetic Collaboration

Posted in 2012, School '12.

The Hollins University / ADF MFA Program in Dance is a touchstone of the festival each summer. Counting a mix of emerging, mid-career and experienced dance professionals amongst its ranks, the HU/ADF MFA program brought twenty-seven dancers to Durham this summer to create, learn and engage in our international and collaborative ADF community.   In the video above, HU/ADF MFA Program Director and HU Dance Department Chair Jeffery Bullock and Core Adjunct Faculty member Dr. Thomas DeFrantz illuminate how its integration within the ADF provides students a chance to expand their academic training into the unique artistic innovations that occur within a festival setting. Come enjoy the fruits of their labor—both new works and thesis projects—at the HU/ADF MFA Performances on Friday, July 27th and Saturday, July 28th at Reynolds Industries Theater at Duke University. Free and open to the public, these performances provide an amazing opportunity to witness the growth and ever-changing landscape of modern dance by its emerging practitioners.
