Dance audiences often wonder how dancers remember “all those steps,” yet have trouble remembering performances they have seen. We will offer Audience Memory Workshops this season, with demonstrations, research, discussion, and memory tips. We will also offer an Audience Memory Enhancement Program, including memory lab visits and exercises on how to improve perception and memory for dance. The program is directed by professor Ruth Day, Director of the Memory for Movement Lab at Duke University and Cognitive Scientist in Residence at the ADF.
